Statement: Why we do not cooperate with CSD Dresden e.V.
Status: August 2024
On 23 March 2019, the general meeting of Gerede e.V. decided to exclude CSD Dresden e.V., which had previously been a member of the association.
Since then, there has been no cooperation with the association.
The reasons for this include various accusations against the association’s board member Ronald Zenker regarding sexualised violence through the exploitation of dependency relationships, especially towards queer refugees in the context of the project work of CSD Dresden e.V. Further criticism of the association relates to the use of extensive powers of attorney that do not meet the standards of social work, a lack of counselling standards and the use of right-wing stewards at the Dresden CSD demonstrations. More detailed information can be found in the publications below.
To date, we believe that the incidents and structures have not been sufficiently analysed and dealt with. We therefore continue to distance ourselves from the CSD Dresden organisation.
Queer refugees are a vulnerable, inadequately protected group that is repeatedly victimised by violence. For us as an organisation, a practice that complies with human rights and promotes self-determination is a basic prerequisite for working with queer people with experience of flight and migration.
